johndeereman346 ... I don't have one, but here's some things I've read & heard.
(I already had one message typed, clicked submit & got an error message ... so I'm doing this over ..)

The SPOT runs about $150 U.S. ... yearly service runs about $100 a year.
Unlike a Personal Locator Beacon (I think) ... message can be sent to those at home that you're OK, should you be running late.

And, there may be an issue with signal strength & pickup if you're in a canyon.

Check out these links on the SPOT & some of the reviews ...
Ummm ... can't post the Google search pages ??

So, do a Google search, type in - spot personal tracker

And then do one for - spot personal tracker reviews

Later ....

There is quite a bit on them in the snowmobile chat section. It seems like they could use a better antenna on them as they do have problems in canyons and treed areas.
