Just did the mod described in the link below...thought I'd share...works great. I added a switch to delete the mod back to factory if needed...

All on headlight mod...How to.... - Diesel Place

Brought day back to my neighborhood at 10:45pm Will be useful for those extra dark or snowy looooong road trips.

Obviously use with respect to other motorists!! :d:beer::d

I did this last fall, a great way to lighten up those back roads. With the addition of Sylvania Silverstars it makes it brighter than my old truck with the KC's. If you have a Silverado with the large square foglights, the highbeam bulbs will fit in them and wont melt the lenses.
Mine was 1.99 from radio shack and about 5 mins. Went by this diagram but didnt do all the steps.

Best mod ever. I also put HID in all three sets of lights. It's unreal.

Here's a pic of hi's and low's on. Compare to the weak, yellow fog. ( still halogen )

and a fuzzy pic of the solder job on the diodes in the fusebox.

$2 mod that took 2 minutes(no extra wires or switches req.)-works fine for the past few years.
