driver broke

Hey everyone,
the other day i was riding my dads 04 summit 800 and the driver broke for no apparent reason. I took it apart yesterday and the driver shaft snapped into two pieces right outside the gear case! I thought this was weird cause i have never heard of that happening before haha anyways just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and what you guys think would cause it to just break like this.

Ya had the same thing happen on a 01 Summit, likely I had hit a rock or stump in earlier and had cracked it. It happens.

Could be from jumping and hard landings, which can shock the driveshaft. Saw that happen once.

after looking it over it looks like it was already cracked before... so i guess it was just a matter of time haha
