Do you twist your straps?

I put a full twist in as with the twist there is no wind vibration and strap wear leading to a strap failure.

Huh. I've always cross straped. Guess I'll look at vertical pulls now.

This is just one man's opinion. I wouldn't necessarily put all my faith in this video. The DOT may not agree with him. The law states it must be prevented from moving front to back and side to side.

The new car carriers just strap right over the tires. I'm thinking they've tried everything so this is probably the easiest/safest.

i have found from experience that the cross strap method will dump the load if one end comes loose. buddy goes crazy when i strap front to front, rear to rear, and side to side. found the ranger stays put, also i strap the axles down not the body. has worked for the last several years. i won't cross strap again, although i don't deal with the DOT everyday. what ever works.
