dim headlights and guage cluster (99 rmk 700)

Hey guys im new here.

im having some issues with my gf's rmk

it runs and starts fine, but the head light and the guage lights are very dim and they dont brighten when it is reved up?

the lights do go bright for a second then dim again whenever it feels like it,

is this a sign of the stator going or is it the regulator? how can i test it? and where do i find either one?

im not too familiar with any polaris's

Is it that bad i have the same Sled. i notice that my RMK headlight doesnt like to light up that much but it is enough to see the ditch. They arent that bright. It will shut off at an idle some days to

I have a 99 700 RMK doing exactly the same thing. Sometimes the headlight is bright then radomly goes dim. I was thinking bad connection but where should I start looking??

Pick up a new voltage regulator from your polaris dealer, It will clear up all your issues. I had the exact same issues on my 2000 RMK 700.

x2 on the reg. have changed 2 on my 99 and 1 on my 01. if you want to check, just unplug the wire on the regulator but DO NOT give it any gas! just let it idle. if light is bright it is the reg.
