CRF 250X Exhaust Red Hot

Hey, looking at buying a 07 250X, noticed when it was idling that exhaust was glowing red hot, normal for a thumper? Thanks.

Not Normal, its jetted too lean, shouldn't ge that hot at idle. Is this on a stock exhaust or aftermarket? What's all done to this bike?

Well my 04 yzf did that my 04 kxf did it my 05 crf did it and now my 07 cr450f does it (just frist part on the head pipe prob 4-6")I have search on hear about this topic and as many snow and mudders informed me this was normal only at idle when there is no air flow over the pipe but with that stated just call the dealer ask a tec if thinking it's lean pull the plug check the color good luck nice bike

my bike does that with stock exhuast. the mechanic I talked to said dont let it idle for more that 5 min.

had a 2005 and a 2006 crf250x and niether one ever glowed red both were stock other then no baffle and the air box opened up for more flow.
