Other places to ride, Mclean Creek, west of Brag Creek. ther is also Powder face trail. Other than that there is always ditch banging in the country, but there is'nt enough snow for that yet.
No... you do not need to insure or register a 120 sled. They are 4 horse power and do not fall under the criteria that describes it as a "vehicle". This is why none of the 120 cc 4 stroke mini sleds have not increased in horse power over the last 8 years. keeps them considered toys.
Let the little guys and gals go out and ride anywhere, at least what common sense tells you.
You may want to double check your information,I think you do.I have a flyer from the Forest warden last summer informing me that my sons 50 cc quad has to have insurance and reg and is considered a motor vehicle.I'm guessing but I'm sure this applies to sleds as well. This law has changed because I know you could ride a 50cc and under moped on the streets at one time without and paperwork, this has also changed!
I may be wrong so let me know what you find out but I would check to be sure!
catmando!
Catmando... you may be right, but I have never heard that the minis need reg and Ins. However, the way our sport is being clamped down on by the law it may be coming if it isn't already in place. I hope I never have to register and insure these things.. I have 3 Z120's.
If you think of - drop a note about which areas you found kid friendly.
We're taking 3 kids out there in 2 weeks - 4,8 and 10 year olds so I love the area, but if I remember correctly there's a back loop that definitely doesn't scream kiddy ride (leads off to the BC side). The raspberry and it's closest neighboring trail were closed last time we were out and I'm not too sure about those either. I do remember staging at cataract and touring up to etherington was something the kids would enjoy - then there's always burning out in and around the staging areas themselves...
If you are taking kids out there,I would suggest you park and ride from Etherington staging area. There is a field right off the parking area and a shelter too.The kids can play ride in the field.Small little hill to go up/down and better snow from there.
