We are heading out there this week and wondering how high the water is on the Cardinal and Ruby rivers are to cross?

Well made it to the falls with group of 26, both rivers high, bush trail good, trails in the Ruby valley bottom destroyed and gone. Lots of rock and boulder hopping and more creek crossings, would not recommend for 2wheel drive and dirt bikes. Places where remnants of old trail are 10 feet in the air and no trees on islands anymore, all swept away..........never seen itlike this before.

Thanx for the info - heading there on Wednesday. How are the roads for pulling travel trailers - are they rutted up also? Are the camping meadows muddy and wet still?

Camping areas are good further down the grave flatts road is washed out so going to Cardinal falls might be tough to get to unless u take the bush trail north of the road to bypass the washout.

If come in from the Edson PR road from the east side and camp around that Ruby Creek Kiosk staging area vs going in from Cadomin- are the roads washed out there also? We are going in with with 2 30' travel trailers and an 28' enclosed trailer.
Thanx in advance for your input

No the PR road is fine just rough as usuall, the sites there are all in good shape for camping. We did not venture down to where the washout happened just to the kiosk on the Cardinal. There was no rain out there this weekend from what I could see so thinking the trails will be dryer and the creeks lower for next week.

If a guy was to go to Cadomin area in the next 2 weeks where would be the best place to random camp? I have a 34 foot trailer to haul in?? Never been camping in this area.

The PR road and grave Flatts road both have great random camping.

Grave flats??

Grave Flats road starts just after KM 95 or so, watch for a very sharp right hand turn that kind of cuts back a bit, follow that and you will come to clearings on both sides, the left side is the Cardinal River, on the right side is also camping, grassy area. Don't go past this area as the road is washed out a few kms later and there is no place to turn around. The main trails starts in this area across the river, which means you have to quad across the river to access the trails.
