I just bought a 2009 polaris 800 rmk assault. It has 1600 miles has all the updates done and a power commander 5. It runs excellent can only get 7600-7700 rpm out of it max. Im riding in saskatchewan elevation of around hmmm 1500-2000 feet. I dont know if it has stock weights or what it has. In top end on hard pack i can only get 70-75 mph. I should be able to get 85 id say on the trail. What should a guy look for or do so i can hit 8200. I changed the belt and still did the same thing. It has the 146x2.125" lug track

Pull out your ext valves and check the pistons for scuff marks on it there should be none while you have the valve clean them up and check them out for rusted or Brocken springs.

Sounds like your top end is done. Look into putting the fix kit in. There 450 on ebay.

If it has the stock compatition track you will never get 85mph and if you do you will loose lugs off that track. When my assault wouldnt rev out the top end was toast. I ran 68g weights in sask. Good luck
