Hey guys new to the forum and am 15 years old. Dont have a ATV or Dirt bike yet but i am saving for one. I am starting a part time job and such. Wondering if any of you could look at these used ATVs and Dirt bikes and tell me if they are worth the money the seller is asking for them.

The two 125's and the kodiak 400(2005) would be the ones to look at. Also do a search for kdx200,220 or a klx300. Might work out too.

it all depends on how much you weigh and how tall you are at 15....have you owned or have experience on a bike or quad? reason I say this... is your 15 already...unless you are a timid and/or slow rider and get scrared easy... then your choices there are really old stuff and slow machines....I know those are the way to go for cheap money... but you buy something like what you mentioned... and if your a go getter... you will want something newer and bigger in no time...

I mean at your age I was riding a 450 mx bike already...
and not even mentioned yet the problems you will have with someones elses machine and more so cause of there age....

At your age, if your into the sport and love power... look for an older Can-am 500 Renegade around 08 or so...imo....light years ahead of what you posted for quads...and I mean light years! lol

I would never buy a real old mx bike... they need rebuilding about every two years or so... the motors that is... if you want your motor at top peak performing level.....if you get a bike get a enduro with small headlight and tail light... the model down from the MX machines... they are more trail friendly and I would look for a 4 stroke machine...2 stroke is good... but im looking at you not being mechanically inclined and bringing it to the dealer all the time... will drive you broke!lol.....unless your parents have deep pockets...hehe

Did they have motorcycles back then? Or were they more like powered bicycles?;)

Thanku.. (Kwik racing ink) yeah i am smaller for my age ( 5,5 100lbs) and i dont have much experience on dirt bikes or quads. You did change my thought on buying a bike though but like i will have to save forever to buy something that you mentioned, my mom doesnt really like quads and dirt bikes either which doesnt help, cause she thinks they pollute and are dangerous. But whenever i see a ATV or dirt bike go by my road( live beside a pit) i wish sooo much that i had one and would spend all my time on one. If i spent some time on a quad or dirt bike i would be no slow rider :D either. Cost is really the only thing holding me back (2005 to now ) everything is soooo expensive. and 125 is enough power im pretty sure too.

get yourself a part time job while your in school! anything will do. Before I had my drivers licence I washed dishes at a restaurant to buy my first sled it was a 98 powder special 600 and it blew up twice that season :) so I learnt save until you can buy something that is a little newer and better condition. Once I got my drivers licence I delivered pizza's through high school it paid alright but the tips were great! do what you gotta do for money young man and start saving for what you want!(by that time you may want a car)

Get a 125, the RM's are good bikes I used to have one. I had an 01 that needed a top and bottom end and it only cost me about $600 for the parts and I learned alot doing it myself with basic handtools. Any two stroke MX bike built after about 2001-2002 wouldn't have changed much until they quit making them in the mid 2000's. There is some great single track riding in the Fraser Valley.

Yeah i am getting a job at a Outdoor store for once a week juring the school year ( i need good marks ) then in summer i can work almost full time. But about a car....... i dont really know maybe wait till after university. But, also i only get to spend 25% of the money i make ( rest needs to go to school ). Maybe there is no point in me saving for a machine..... sigh .... i would buy a RM 125 most likely if I have the money.

Whats wrong with an older honda? xr 200 or something like that.. Bullet proof. A mid 90s in decent shape can be found for around a grand and will treat you well for a long time. Two strokes are fun with the power band and such but your mom probably wont like it much lol.

My first bike was an XR200 when I was 14, outgrew the power after a summer but I was a lot bigger than the OP.

DRZ 125 will be underpowered for you.
