Has anyone anywhere in alberta encountered fish cops/RCMP trying to enforce a "weight restriction" in off road areas?? Supposedly there are areas where a 1000 pound weight restriction exists on the trails. I've heard that the indian graves area and another up by edmonton somewhere have standing restrictions and that they can be enacted in other areas at the discretion of the authorities. A couple of co-workers were stopped near indian graves with their SxS's on the trailers and they were told by the fish cop not to bother unloading as they were over the weight restrictions for the area.

Other than this I've never heard of this happening..... has anyone else heard of this or been stopped because of it??

thanks

someone posted some regs for the kananaskis or bragg creek area before, I remember seeing a weight restriction in them. I've never been hassled up here about it.

I Have heard of the law and it always applies in the areas it is for I know Indian graves is one for sure never heard of it being enforced though pretty sure the intent of the law was to keep 4x4 vehicles ( trucks jeeps etc ) out and side x sides had not really caught on then so a 1000 lb for a machine was ok as even the Polaris 850 quad doesn't weigh that much
