which pipe? and what clutches? what are you tuning with? are you getting a fuel tuner? need this info.. then i can ball park it.. i have known Kev before he even opened torqed and we tuned without a dyno in 08... now i have 30+ hrs of tuning and with all the visits there i have learned more and more each time...

Either an HMF swamp series Xl slip on with an hmf optimizer or an LTE slip on. And I was thinking QSC clutches or cvtech

Kevin has more options than that....

there are better pipes that make more power even slip-ons that make more power than a full system.. depends on other mods thatyou do here too...
although the HMF is not a bad choice...

Kevin will probably talk you out of a optimizer.. they are not the real ticket.. they can only add fuel and not take away and they can't do a dual tune
there are other way better options like a PC

LTE is a nice slip -on too..

on the clutches, either or will do very well.. cvtech is easier to tune but if kevin is doing it on the dyno then it no problem.. its just that altiude does play a role in where your shift out will be at and that requires your self tuning.. you cant keep running to torqed to always get shift out right so the cvtech is the easier clutch to tune...thats what i run but qcs is a nice piece too...

i would match the primary with a STM secondary too..

if you do a slip on and tuner with a primary and secondary clutch with about half a day on the dyno it should run you between 2500 and 2800 bucks...somewhere there...thats with GST too, i would think...

Yeah I have heard about those STM secondary's are they really that great? And I like the sound of the HMF what's the PC tune?

PC stands for Power Commander.. fuel management.. way better unit... or if you have the money then a full ecu like the Tune Monster....
The STM secondary has rollers... it allows for way faster and really smooth upshifts then the stock unit.. and where you notice it the most is in downshifting.. it down shifts smoothly and when going up a hill will downshift when your under power so you stay in the right grear all the time where as the stock unit will not down shift untill you get out of the throttle for a sec... it makes for a complete cultch set up...

not sure if your a member of can-amtalk.com but that is the best site if you own a can-am... we have all the major builders on there and also the best tuners in North America.. we also have a race section there and have can-am pros like Mike Pennland, Micheal Swift, Zac Zachosky and Joran Phillips talk with us of GNCC racing.. we also have a few of the gorrilla axle team for mud racin that talk with us there...

anyways i tell you this cause if you go there you can read a thread in the gerneral atv section..first one on the fourm page.. click it and then the thread is tiltled cvtech and stm secondary.. have a read..

if you like HMF, then get it.. it is a good unit.. just does nt put down that extra hp or two then other ones do.. thats all...

Jamoanlee, I have an 08-800x.
Get Torqed set me up with a full Muzzy system, Power Commander 5 to control fuel, CvTech primary and a STM secondary.
They also recommended the 09 intake.
When we pulled it onto the dyno it made 52 horsepower as a baseline.
With Kevin's tuning at the end of the day it made 65.
Kevin has used my 800 as a dyno mule a couple times. We have gone through two sets of aggressive camshafts and have found a very good setup now that makes 71 horsepower and is very good through the trails.
Stock 1000's usually make around 65hp, it has no problem pulling on stock and some mildly modified 1000's.
The Cvtech allows user friendly quick clutching adjustments due to tire changes, riding conditions, etc.
You will be setup with weights coming off the dyno and I recommend buying one set heavier and one set lighter so you can fine tune as you will need to for your tire weight to get the shift out perfect.
The STM secondary is a set it and forget it unit, Kwik's description of it is spot on.

Should be an interesting year, Kwik has some plans up his sleeve and I have some up mine.
We will be laying it all on the line again in May at the Battenfelder rodeo!

lol Chris i dont know if i have anything up my sleeve.. i have been talkin to Kev but funds are always a problem too.. not sure if i will be doing anything yet..

i mean i made 70.39 rwhp on mine but there is always a bit more you can do... not much of course to a stock 800 unless you go head work or higher compression.. head work will raise max rpm but i think what a person needs is the torque to get from A to B....and only larger cc's can give you more torque.. compression will to a bit but nothing better than a bbk for that torque pull...
