have a 2007 outlander 800

updated the to a Dulton clutch in 2008 At the dealer -- so now idea of springs or parts that are in it.....

2 problems that need fixing

1) Clutch creeps a idle in gear - will actually roll away by itself

2) clutch engages at 2000 rpm and quad jumps but ouce engaged it runs up and down from stop to flat out and back to stop with no issues --- how do you get the clutch to engage at a lower more reasonable rmp --- worst part is stopping on a hill and then trying to get moving with out it trying to flip over...

so how do i fix these problems --- thanks

Easy to pull apart sounds like the weights are sticking. If you pull the clutch cover you can see what its doing. I live by Lindbrook can give you a hand if ya need it.

Problem 1 is as Miledout said...1 way bearing needs servicing.

Problem 2 is not a problem...that's how the Dalton kit is. The grn/yl spring engages at 2100 rpm. There is an optional tan spring that engages lower and has about the same shift-out RPM...stick that in there.

Yup. I see a spring I hadn't heard of before...the yel/bl might fit your needs as well. I think the tan engages at 1800....that yel/bl should engage at 1600 or so.....

ok, i looked at a few fishes.. its an 07... same clutch... anyways.. #22 is correct.. when you look at the fish, between the 2 bearings is that black piece.. your bearings could be totally fine.. you just have to clean and put iceoflex grease in the black piece where the 2 bearings go into it on either side... that iceoflex is expensive but nothing else works.. well really true but trust me get the iceoflex.. you only need a fine coat inside of the black cone..so very little.. see if you dealer will give you a little on a piece of foil paper or something..

give your dealer a 12 pack of beer.. your getting the grease dirt cheap then....
how many km on bike?

the iceoflex is 70 bucks for 50grams.. thats US....so more here.. but 50 grams will last you all of your life and many lifes of other people too....lol

i believe the stock set up has sealed bearings so just see if the rotate smoothly one way when you have them out.. if they do then clean and fine coat of grease and your fine again...

2007 Can Am Outlander 800 XT

I think it is Item #22 - part #420632372 - description- Ball Bearing

BUT is that per bearing or is it a set of 2 bearings???

I tried to capture the BRP fish site but it only captures the main page

thats for one bearing.. you would need two.. i added to my post ...go back and read it....

another note... 3000 k is low... take your cover off about every 5 to 7 rides and take compressed air to your clutches and clean them out..
if you know how to take them apart, that would be better to clean.. that way it does not get dirt in there where the grease sits... the bearings are sealed ( i believe) so not much can get in there unless your cvt has been full of water lots... but you never know... check first before you buy bearings.. if smooth it only the grease and clean you need

you should find that the oneway has to be serviced a lot less then...

If you have smoked a belt, the the little pieces get caught in the one way bearing, there are two bearings in it about 70 bucks a pop. there is a thrust ring as well. When you take it apart make sure you don't lose the two guide caps and springs. The Dalton kit by design raises your engagement rpm to allow you to have more grunt in the muck. once you get used to it you really start to use it and like it. When I switched to the the dalton kit I was able to go through the mud pits in Battenfelder in high rather than low.

yes, Kelly is right.. good points.. i was actually thinking of saying that.... now i like the set up on my cvtech... 18% smaller one way for more out of the hole (belt sits lower in the primary) and its a one piece sealed bearing.. no icylfex..(lol) grease needed.. same with the qsc.... and i think the qsc's one way is smaller yet a bit.. could be wrong there...?

yeah, the Dalton kit will have a primary spring with a different initail rate and finish rate spring so it controls the rpm your clutch hits at... like dropping the clutch on a standard type of thing... then the weights are set so that your shift out goes to higher rpm a bit and that increases the hit of the power to the clutch at the rpm it stalls too.
