So I don't know if my wife has just been really hard on the brakes, or if the BRP brakes are soft and wear out quicker than I expect, but on her 2012 650XT the brakes are almost down to the metal. Martin service says $280 to replace, and there is only 300kms on the quad, which then makes for a 'normal' year about $600 in brakes per quad.

Is this normal? Is there a better brake to use?

These shouldn't wear out that fast...

300 km on my first set, switched to EBC and have been running the same set since 09. The BRP factory ones are JUNK!

Stock Can Am brakes do not last if there's any mud. I wore my 07 brakes down to metal in ONE weekend when it was new. Replace with EBC severe duty pads or SBS pads and yer good to go. Do it yourself...takes about 1/2 hr.

x3 on the EBC sever dudty pads. I found them to be nearly the same price as the OEM ones but last way longer.

Thanks every one. Who sells the EBC brakes in town? Should I buy them online?
