I just skimmed through but the one thing I haven’t seen in either of those articles is how much pulling power your winch loses with every layer of rope you put on it. I have posted it in the past from the warn specs in the owners manual, but here is another article on it.
https://warnindustries.wordpress.co...nce-specifications-pulling-capacity-by-layer/
Duty cycle is the other big one. That is in the warn link you posted.

heading out to north end of rig street or ride from lease, tomorrow, dec 10 get another ride in. camp fire, smokies, scratch the itch.
get into some area's that are less accessible in the summer. hopefully the creeks are frozen?

yup, not going on any body of water(lake) creeks are not to bad but will check depth of ice on wide ones, been stuck a couple yrs back, took 2 winches with snatch blocks to get out. front tires under the ice and would not climb out. a few well placed logs into the front of tires got it to roll up. was getting nasty.

was a good ride yesterday, went on the winter Marble Mt. Quest, trails were icy, seen some sled tracks, not enough snow in my opinion. went from bridge at rig street over to bridge north end of FTR. then south to marble MTN, up to tower then down to teepee pole creek cut across. over to rig street then north up to trucks, 6 hrs, likely 10 or so in the summer. no mud, no skeeters no one whining, i'm out of gas. only a handful of atv'rs, in parking lot, lots of wild horses though.

looks like we'll be going on another ride after Christmas, likely back out to look for marble mountain, someday we'll find it.
