About to change belts on a 2011 HDX 700
Any tips or direction on how to make the job easier

Detonated on the weekend but smelled burning belt for the last 50-75km.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I always remove the primary. It has red loctite on it so heat it up with a heat gun first. You can use a case bolt to spread the secondary. Keep the case bolts in order as two are shorter than the rest. Gasket will be reusable if your careful.
Use a good impact on and off and don’t forget to use red loctite.
Clean your hands of any grease or oil and clean up the sheave faces with a very fine scotch brite if it is scarred.
Clean the rollers and roller valleys really well , and I roll the rollers across a piece of glass to check for flat spots. If there are flat spots replace them.

There is also a bearing in the clutch cover that you need to check. It supports the primary shaft. If it needs replacing I have an alternative to the stupid expensive cat part.

Well pulled the clutch housing cover off and all the rollers laying in the bottom.
I figured that was a bad thing so it is going to the AC hospital tonight.

Too bad you are not closer. I would help you out. It probably stripped the fixed plate
