Wondering where in the Edmonton area you guys take your ATVs?

AWD stopped working on my 2005 polaris sportsman today.

I havent had to take it in to a shop yet for repairs.....just wondering if anyone knows a shop that does good work and has a decent hourly shop rate

thx

Rob at specialty motorsports spruce grove. Best bet for good fast service.

My garage, the first thing I bought for my quad was a factory service manual and it's paid for itself many times over. I'm no ATV mechanic but armed with the proper manual and maybe some advise from UTube and the forum here I have been able to tackle any problems that have come up. Fixing it yourself is cheaper than any shop and you know it's done right.

thanks for the tips guys

I lost AWD on the weekend......i have tried googling it and it found a few possible solutions (2005 polaris sportsman 700)

One youtube video showed combining two sets of brown/white wires up around the headlight (it helps fix a bad ground issue apparently)

When i look at my machine, i dont have two connectors with sets of brown & white wires.....I only see ONE set of brown and white wires.......the ground looks good so im not sure if thats the issue.

I see that there is a bank of fuses at the front and that area got pretty wet when riding yesterday, so im not sure if one of those fuses are blown? (hard to tell...they are black casing, so you cannot see easily if the fuse is blown like a car one that is clear colored and you can see the 'break' in the line)

So not sure where to go next for this issue.

I also have a badly torn cv boot that I already had wrapped with a thick plastic and zip-tied lol.. ....thats torn back open now. Also have a pretty badly bent chrome looking bar that is most likely a tie rod?

I’ve done CV boots, not hard at all but have lots of rags on hand...very dirty job.
Yours may be different but my Honda wouldn’t go into 4X4 once, it turned out to be a low battery. You will need a test light or a small cheap multi meter, find a good ground and test both ends of the fuses for power, a visual inspection is not a reliable way to check a fuse. If your able to post some pictures we could be of more help, especially the bent chrome bar.

I would suggest finding specific forum to your machine, quite likely if it happens to one machine it already happened to another. May take a few searches but you will find some are useless and some are a wealth of info. May even be worth a few phone calls any solid shop will point you in the right direction if its a common issue.

Another vote for Specialty in Spruce Grove if you do end up taking it to a shop. Awesome people!
