I will check in to tonight's town hall. I understand from yesterday's town hall that Phillips says there will be not changes to OHV trails. However, I've heard that the local business were told this past summer that the trails in the area would all be shut down. Can anyone confirm where this information came from?

She says that all existing trails will be left untouched. The problem is there are very few approved existing trails. So what are they leaving open?
Nordegg has built some awesome trails in and around town, but there is no indication if they will be left open or not. What about the 1000’s of kilometers of trails that are out there now?

With elections right around the corner there just trying to appease people with little information. I wouldn't count on anything staying open if they get reelected by default again.

I don't care what she says, she is a proven liar. Apparently there are already signs up and trails closed along highway 11 and it's not even a park yet.

I heard almost the whole thing. She answered most people's questions by saying that there would be minimal changes to existing land use policy but always found a way to casually slide in "in the proposed pluz zone". And of course, riding would still be permitted on designated trails. ...even though there are none yet.

And they brought big rocks in to try and block access.

Yup, by the way she was talking, i think reading between the lines, shannon is pushing this through before the next election, period. I'm afraid it will turn into another "castle" area... Trails will be gone, and all your atv riding will be history, along with random camping!

I would say this is 100% the case.

I don't think there's any doubt that she'll do everything in her power to push it through. However, we seem to be the only ones screaming about it, so it's easy for her to just paint us as a bunch of self-entitled, belligerent rednecks and move on. We're now starting to see First Nations push back a little, but where's everyone else? Why are we not hearing from industry or economic experts? What about farmers and ranchers? What about the affected municipalities that are opposed to the parks?
