I'm with freeflorider, has to be something simple, no way the slight change in intake air flow vs pressure drop would cause that dramatic a problem

What size pipe did you use and how many bends ? Did you use 90’s or street 90’s ? Stock airbox?

I was thinking a forgotten rag/cloth in the intake tract as well...

If it's a vacuum impulse carb, could be too open

They need restriction for carb to work

Good example is a brute force with air filter lid off, will not run right

Put lid back on and bam , good to go

Well I did find the problem with this ,it's an Suzuki eiger 400 cc I put a 2 inch snorkel on it ,
Any how I finally got to talk to my neighbor that worked at king quad dealer ship and he said you can do one of two things ,
You can reject the carb for the amount of air that is coming in now ,witch is a lot of work an guessing witch jet to put in or
Leave the carb the way it is set up and match the air need for it to run properly, so he said put a plug in the snorkel and drill holes in it until
It runs rite ,so up at the top of the candy cane I put a plug in there and put a 11/4 inch hole in plug and it ran better , so I did this a few times
Till it was running rite ,and it works now ,go figger this one ,the Suzuki carbs will only run on a certain amount of air not anough it fluids, too much air it bogs an back fires ,so I hope this can help someone else ,,

That's what I thought, too much air and not enough restrictions for vac carb to work right

Glad to hear you got it figured out, but it sure seems odd that the snorkel increased your air flow.

The vacuum slide carbs are real touchy for air I have found, even valves not adjusted right can screw them up
