I'm sure this has been posted before. But here it goes again.
Looking for a decent place to camp with quadding trails near by. Preferably within 2 to 3hrs of Edmonton.

I was looking online. Looks like big horn is being shut down. Are people still riding there legally? Or best to look elsewhere?

How is Athabasca area? Are the trails decent there? Camp grounds close to the trails? Don't mind trucking a bit to get to trails.

Not sure where to go.

Vega is a decent spot close to Edmonton with free camping. Long Lake is another one. Hinton area seems to have lots as well, just not sure where the best spots are. There is a campground just east of Hinton where you quad from your camp site. I'm sure others will chime in with a lot more places than I know of.

Vega is ok....used to be better, now flooded with people and whooped out trails. Smith area is pretty sweet spot. lots of camping spots (bush style) and trails go forever.

Within 3 hours southwest of Edmonton.
Off grid: Brazeau dam (keep stuff locked up), Alder Flats, Brazeau ATV club trails (just south of Drayton) and Big Horn dam (still open but just for one more year I fear).
Proper campground: Outwest campground (can ride right from site).
