Winshield For Side By Side Question.

Have a question about winshields for the side by side folks. What are most of you folks running on your machines? Purchased a polaris general, and want to install a windshield on it. Some folks run the half windshield, others a full windshield. I will be using it to plow snow as well in the winter. Most folks are saying go glass if running a full winshield. Plus a rear windscreen, due to the vortex created by running a full windshield The dust will just flow in the back.

I run a split windshield, a full windshield when closed, pull the cranks and it splits about a foot up so you get a draft, pull the pins and take the upper half off on hot days. Best of all worlds.

I have the 1/2.
You can't see out of it when riding. It just helps deflect some muck and wind from you but you'll still wear a fair bit of muck.
But I don't really use mine in the winter

you will be covered in dust with a half or full windshield, half is good but on rainy days your going to get soaked, and cold on cold windy days. the split folding full windshield can give you the best of both worlds or as good as you get, i run the solid full windshield, so far been happy. no sticks slapping you in the face on the trail, great for winter riding at 30 below, well as great as it will get at -30. friggin cold.

Definitely go with the folding windshield. We've had them on our last couple side by sides and couldnt be happier. Its amazing how much you appreciate the air flow when it gets warm out, and the full windshield is a million times nicer when it gets cold.

The last one I bought is my favorite so far out of the four I have. It is a folding windshield. 1/4 is the bottom then the upper 3/4 will fold down to the hood and secures in place. I also added a manual wiper to it.

I have a half and a full.

Go for the spit. Better vision with the glass. Get a wiper too!

I put the flip up windshield on. seems ok but bounces around when fully open on rough ground.

I have a full windshield, but I'm going to modify it so part of it will open for air flow. Closed in the winter when I'm running tracks, and open in the summer for air flow. Yes you'll need a back window if you run a full windshield. I can't believe what they charge for these things! Not hard to make your own for way less money. Mine is homemade with 60 bucks worth of Lexan, barely a scratch after 4 years, and way tougher than glass. If I ever need to replace it I'll go with Margaurd for 100 bucks. That stuffs darn near bullet proof!

It gets dusty with a full windshield. But it’s nice in the cold. You won’t have dust issues with a half and a full back. I like the idea of the tip down ones best of both worlds.

Run a full front and rear in plexy glass. They do show scratches but deflect the limbs really well. Keeps the lap dry when raining and the cold off the face in the winter. However yes the dust does circulate when bombing down the road. I do take it off lots in the summer for that reason. Only a 5 min job

If you run a full or even a 3/4 windshield and don't want to run a full rear , the heavy mesh that CanAm uses actually makes a big difference in dust in the cab without the issues of another big piece of glass/lexan or ????

I run a full glass windshield with wiper in the front and a poly windshield in the back, I also have fully enclosed doors, its great for winter and mud on colder days. on the warmer ones I take the tops of the side doors off and you get lots of air flow, still does a pretty good job of keeping the mud out too. After having the full glass windshield I don't think I'd go back to a half or no windshield its really nice! especially in the rain. The machine mine is on is a X3 XRS which I jump and go rather fast in and the glass has help up fine
