Seen a few apex rzr conversions. Just curious if anyone has heard of an 800 transplant. If I had the mechanical skills Id sure be interested to try it.

No, but now you've got me thinking. My son has a Nytro engine kicking around somewhere that would probably wake up my RZR quite nicely.

Holy cow does that thing look rank! Im surprised manufacturers wouldnt offer this option. Or are emission requirements tougher for atvs?

I would definitely be putting a quieter muffler on that thing though. That noise would get old in a hurry.

Lol. Why would you want it as an option? Machines are making the power now from factory and I can start my machine from the driver seat

Lighter, simpler, cheaper, easy hp with no turbo.......and I think you can get electric start on 2 strokes

Won’t be any lighter. I doubt it would be cheaper. Don’t need to mess with oil. No smoke.

Might be a really dumb question.......but would you need a transmission in one of these if you installed an engine with RER? You would lose 4x4 obviously, but would a chaincase type of set up handle the load of the rear tires, or would it not be any worse than the load from a big track?

I like the idea of the 2 stroke.
Polaris quads used to have 2stroke 4x4 quads, so...... thinking along their principles... You would need/want a transmission, to have 4x4 and reverse. Also using a newer sled engine with E start and oil injected.

Captain Jack (referenced above) also put a 670 twin into a Scrambler years ago....if anyone has the skillset to do a weird motor swap, it’s him.

Also you would also want a engine break for when your brakes fail on a nasty hill.
