Getting new tires for the 800 max

Okay I'm going to get new tires this year for my quad. The stock 26 inch Carlisle ACT tires have been good to me but would like a little more traction. Not a huge mud guy but like all I play in it. The main reason for new tires tires is I want 6ply and a little taller tire for ground clearance. I'm going to go with the zilla because they are the same weight as my stock tires and everyone seems to recommend them. What do you all think? I'm going to 27 inch tires because they won't be hard on my belt.

I do like Zillas and have bought several sets over the years. 27’s will measure out at 26” and be the same height as your stockers. The one bad thing I can say about Zillas is that the beads are soft. You need to run the pressure up at 7+ and even then you will end up with crud in the beads. If you have the factory bead locks, should be fine.

800 will turn 28” easy. Check out wild thangs they are made by the same company as zilla and look pretty much the same but are cheaper.

No bead locks.
Do you rec a diff tire?

I had 28’s on my max and they worked great. Never clutched it no felt the need to do it. I’d recommend 28’s too.

Also have a look at the aggro tires. Put them on one of my sxs’s. Haven’t tried them yet but they look like an awesome tire. Good price at Rapid too.

Definitely go with 28's, especially if you're running a 14" rim. If you put 20" tires on a 14" rim, there's a good chance you'll be constantly piercing your sidewalls. You shouldn't have any belt issues with 28" Zillas. I wouldn't worry too much about grass in the beads unless you're hell bent at running them at super low pressure - you're more likely to have belt issues carting a passenger than you are with 28's.

The Wild things are nearly indistinguishable from Zillas. I rode with a guy last weekend that had 3 Zillas on his Razor and one Wild Thing and you could still barely tell. He likes the Zillas but feels the side wall is to weak to run on a sxs and apparently the Wild Things have a slightly beefier side wall.

I have 12 inch rims.

So I went with the Wild Thang tires because my machine is a max and the side walls are stiffer on the wild thangs. Used them last weekend and they works great
