60" or Wider SxS?

So I'm looking at possibly upgrading my 2011 RZR 800 50'er. I'm wanting to either go to a 900 S or something similar in size. I do drive some very tight trails even with my 50"er, but I would sure like some better suspension without buying a new 900 Trail and having to go out and buy new shocks or springs? Guys that have the wider machines, do you find you have trouble on the trails with regards to the width of your machines?

No problem at all. My last sxs was stock 68 inches wide. Had no issues.

Not an issue for me. Second sxs is 64" like the first. IMO the guys having issues are the narrow machines as they are always on their sides or getting stuck easy.

Main problem is some people forget to clear the trail wide enough!

Dont know about tipping over or getting stuck easier but I can sure get between and through the pesky trees. Arcitc Cat Trail 50"

60" or Wider SxS?

We have a rzr4 800. It’s 60” wide and extra long too.

Being that long I don’t think I would want any wider than 60”.

If I was getting a 2 seater, a 64”” machine wouldn’t scare me.

Guy at work has a 4 seater rzr 900s. Only 11 feet long and 60" wide works for him. I think a 64" wide x3 4 seater might be tough in the woods right now. A guy might have to go through the centre of everything and no bypasses. As time goes though trails will get wider.

Depends on how many brush scratches you care to have. I have a 72" wide machine.

there are a few steel bridges you will not be able to cross if you are wider than 60 inch. going through trees will be a nightmare! wide open fields and wide trails about the only places wider than 60 inch will fit without needing a saw.

Was just thinking that. The last bridge we built will not let a 74" machine cross.

I am sure there are bridges that are to narrow I just have not found one yet. But I have had to clear some trails better. Mostly ride West of Caroline.

At that width why not just get a jeep tj. They are 68". Thats what you will be seeing on the trails now that you are making them highways.

I won't be going wider than 60". Really my concern is the suspension on the 900 Trail vs the 900S.

U could put a set of 1000 rzr rims on, supposed to narrow the 900 a couple inches, as they are zero offset.

The 900 trail suspension is quite a bit better than the 800. I had a 2011 50" 800 and had done the ltr/yz shock upgrade on it which was way better than stock. My 2015 900 trail stock suspension was a bit better than the 800 with shock upgrades but the stock shocks sagged pretty quick so I replaced them with a set of bandit shocks and they made a big difference. This sept I was on the fence over getting an trail or s model for the wife and ended up staying withe the 50" due to price. The difference in price paid for my 1/2 windshield,rear poly panel, roof,viper winch, click 6 harness and a set of bandit shocks.
