Random Camping

Well thanks to fire bans and OHV bans and our wonderful government closing/forcing us out of our usual camping/quadding area. It is time to look for a new area to go. We prefer to random camp but are open to campgrounds also. So this year we are thinking of going towards Rocky Mountain House. Is there any good places to random camp (don't know the area at all) or am I better off to hit up Outwest Campground. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Lots of places to random camp around there. South of Outwest along HWY 752, South Fork, North Fork, Horburg, Saunders, Jackfish Lake

Boy if it wasn't busy enough out there, now the rest of the province is going to camp that area, that would suck

Also lots of random camping & trails west of Caroline, IIRC we used to turn south on "rig road" or "oil rig road" something like that.

Unfortunately this is what happens. To help ease your mind we are very respectable campers and our site will be cleaner when we leave than when we arrive. The whole group of us (8 people ages 1 year to 68 years) are all non smokers. So no worries that we will be flicking butts into the landscape. We do drink occasionally but only after the machines are parked for the night. We do enjoy sitting around a fire playing cards at night but also take precautions with having a fire. We carry a collapsible water tank with a pump and 20lb fire extinguishers with us. The group likes to trail ride but we are not into bogging/tearing up the landscape. None of our machines are modified with the exception of different rims (never had so many flat tires as we did with the metal ones). Exhaust and spares arrestors are factory. We understand that this is your backyard and would love to explore it respectfully. Hope to see you on the trails and we will be riding a pride of cats. Please stop by if you see us and say hello. lots of riding out at rig street, down to north side of red deer river. camping and riding along the forest trunk road. be cautious of fire and atv bans due to the extreme heat and lack of rain in area's. pick up a FLUZ map for the area, it tells you were you can ride along the forest trunk road. no riding on numbered roads, you can be fined.

Sounds like you're no fun at all! ...kidding, I really don't mind towing Arctic Cats.
