Here is some information:

"B.C. has banned off-road vehicles from areas of three major regions of the province to prevent any more human-caused wildfires during one of the worst fire seasons on record.
Effective at noon on Friday, recreational off-road vehicles are prohibited from Crown land in the Cariboo, Kamloops and Southeast fire centres. The ban doesn't apply to private land or national parks.
The Ministry of Forests said the ban is in effect to help protect the public.
Emergency response and commercial vehicles that need access for farming or business purposes are still allowed.
Jeeps, trucks and other cars are permitted on paved roadways, but cannot go into the backcountry."

The last sentence is interesting. Go figure that one out! I know it is dry and but what is the back country defined as? It I have a gravel road to get to my property, is that considered backcountry?

In southeast bc (Jaffray area)and just came upon a family in their 4 seat sxs coming down out of the forestry. I told him, politely, that there is a total ban. His idiotic response was , ' it just rained'. Hopefully his little kids now know that their dad doesn't care about rules and he has some explaining to do. Moron.

Looks like the OHV ban and some of the fire ban has been lifted out west. Must have got quite a bit of precipitation over the last few days! Still looks like a complete forest ban down south though.
