Will be a lot of interest in the new commander when it drops out of the chutes...
Canam is promising a new sxs every 6 months till 2020

By the time the commander catches the general of today they will only be 25 hp behind of general 2.0

Canam does not stay behind in power for very long ...lol
Also they tend to underestimate their performance & #s , while on the other hand Polaris tends to do the opposite...

That's why a 144hp turbo rzr gets destroyed by a 131 hp turbo mav on a regular basis.
The general is a dump box rzr S version ...
I like it , but it still has all the recall & reverse chain BS that has haunted Polaris for the last few years ..

In terms of catching up ..lol the X3is so far ahead of the rzr now in power / performance / ride / fit & Finnish / durability / suspension etc etc ..
It's not even fair anymore ...lol

They ( popo) would be better served by looking at QC instead of just upping HP every year ...imo

I am sure polaris is looking at qc or any other variables that cost them business just as Brp does to possibly fill holes in there line ups that other companies have success in. The Hp war's are actually a little weird as people now need to by components to match the power for different applications than sand rather than have components that can handle additional hp like in the snowmobile industry. (although Brp cannot make that claim)

Very true.

On the trails low HP small machines bounce along the trails. Get from A to B.
HP is one thing need quality and something the works for different riding.

Be interesting over the next few years, with sxs's , sleds and quads.

Cost will be a factor for many people

Also warranty. 6 month factory is a joke when you spend that much.

Polaris has been looking at QC for 10 years, hasnt helped them much has it.

6 month warranty shows how much faith they have in themselves.

It's all about how you maintain & ride them ...
But the temptation to use cheaper parts outsourced from china is huge , To increase profits .....
I know one thing my canam sxs has been bullet proof , by now I would gone through 10 Polaris axles and who knows how many wheel bearings and other misc front end &driveline parts .
Canam just used better quality parts in general ...imo

Also going back to the models for 2018...
You notice in the outlander line that they came back with the XXC outlander that was so popular back in 2011 when they put the outlander on a renegade frame which back then all the fast woods racers wanted. Of course the new XXC is now on a G2 frame but what made the 2011 XXC outlander so rare was it was only out for one year and what the racers used to do before the 11 xxc outlander was take the TTI arms and the front shock mounts off a renegade and put them on the outlander frame cause of strength and different geometry for cornering and handling. When they put the xxc on the renegade frame there now was no need to change anything. With the G2 frame that does not apply now but still bringing back a XXC outlander was something can am listened when the GNCC guys cryed for.

that 3 year warranty that can am throws in is only at certain times of year .. you where lucky that when you bought can am gave that incentive cause it was offered at the time you bought every time..... If its not offered when you buy you will be paying for either 1 ,2 or 3 year coverage which ever one you choose to pay for otherwise its 6 months only if you dont want to pay for the warranty. When they offer it its free... just like giving your money off the quad.. its usually cheap finanacing or a 3 year warranty, is the deal they do a few times a year usually. prices stay the same year around unless factory gives any rebates.. Dealers dont usually discount the machines on there penny. This is not the car and truck industry. haha

I dont finance so I guess that is why I have always gotten the warranty, never asked the local dealer, just assumed that is the way it was for everyone.

Promotions come on and off all the time. Best to buy when warranty offers are in effect if you want the best deal in my opinion.
