I have an 06/07 sportsman 450. when I crack the throttle wide open it initially bogs out and then the revs climb, even in neutral. The issue has slowly been getting worse. tried some sea foam, but no help.

any thoughts

Sounds like a carburetor problem, not unusual to have to remove & clean/rebuild a carb on a 10 year old machine, especially these days if it was stored with ethanol enhanced gas in it.

Check easy things first. Check spark plug to or even change it for the $6-$8 it will be. Does it have a fuel filter? If so check that out to.

Ethanol is usually the cause of carbonator/storage issues as it can gel in as little as 3 months. Like a jelly fish in you gas tank if it happens! Plugs up your jets big time. But I have had it usually plug the pilot jet first. then it won't idle without the choke or giving it throttle. But your issue sounds fuel related. I believe a Bogg can be from a lean condition like a fuel filter issue etc...
