Yep duty cycle is huge, get a winch that is larger than you'll ever need and you'll be Golden.
Get the winch below and you could pull your side x side through skeg all day if you want.

If I ever get a new SxS that is what Id run. The people I use to go with would stop every mile for a "beer break"
Lucky if you made it 10km all day.... Not really my thing.

Same with my old riding group, did more sitting and watching they get wasted then riding. That's why my 2012 quad has only 430 miles on it...

Yep gets pretty lame, kinda like dicking around with a 100$ winch. But hey different strokes.

If you are set up right with a good machine and know how to pick your spots , the winch does not get used a lot ... All our group might of winched 3 or 4 times in 1400k this year .... But when you need it , you need it . Just go down the centre and pin it .....

True, but if you're sporting a 30g SxS on 32's,, burried,,, better to have a winch worthy of the job imo

Or tea on tap ....I hear you .
After a while you kinda get a sixth sense of what NOT to do....lol
But occasionally , you get duped... Hahaha

It s the guys who try to sneak through on the off camber sides and slide in to the holes all crooked and tipped over ...
The winch companies & parts guys ... Well ... They just love them old boys .... !

Slower and louder. But for the price its a good winch I agree.

Mine won't allow me to flip to Free spool right now. Might have to claim warranty

Winch is cheaper than u can buy it at the supplier.. I have a few of them and yest they are slower but just about bullet proof. As for the stuck free spool the bearing under the know sizes up. Iv had it happen to both of my winches. I took the bearing out and tossed it in vinegar for a few days, then soaked in in oil overnight. Been working good for a few years. They did send me a new end cap and bearing but iv never used it. When it happens again im just going to order a better sealed ceramic bearing

clean out the on off handle. mine was full of mud and wouldn't allow to be pushed in.

After i cleaned the first one i filled with marine grade grease.. Been goin over 2 years and gets submerged on a regular basis with no issue. I also put grease inbehind handle to keep water from penetrating bearing again

will see if i can find a tube of marine grease.

i also took the end off he winch and greased inside, worked till i had the rope wind too much on one side. poped the through bolt and did case damage. mine was a 4500lb, good winch.

Ya good winch I have put mine through hell with some extremely long hard pulls. ( had to spin the atv around in 3 feet of snow and winch it 200 feet back up the hill) just about 3 hours of solid winching with a few breaks to let battery catch up. I like the positive lock for freewheel compared to warn where if you sneeze you turn it to far and have to fix It.

yup i have pulled hard enough that all you hear is creaking and nothing moves. lol. has been a good winch, wouldn't want to get my hand caught in it though. :twocents:

had the contacter so hot , we stopped and fried a bacon sandwich on it
icon10.gif
. i try to winch for 30 seconds and then wait for a minute to continue, otherwise a bottle of water over contacter keeps it going.
