yes good info, I am in the market for new tires for the ranger, I'd like wide /skinny 30's. I'm not liking the 10 wide tires all around, as the ranger is heavy on the rear. i would like to get a few tire sets out on the trail and try them out, over the same trail over a weekend. the same size tire's then you could get a better idea of how they perform.
I'd like to see how nevile's work out.

ewww, I already got a set!!! lol.

monster mayhems, worked pretty good, but there may be a better all round tire out there for the GREEN RANGER. the new tires - cryptids - worked very well, like to see more longer term. as the mayhems have bad sidewalls

i am running a set of outback maxs and have been happy with them but they are heavy which is why these new ones have my interest however these are an 8 ply tire

I looked at the Max's and have seen them in action . Great tire , work awesome ! I think the Cryptid's will be a bit better on the trail ,with more flex . I think though the max is tougher and a lot heavier tire.

Both worked real well in the same conditions, last ride...
If you run 30 Max's though , you better watch your belt / clutching ...as it is almost a 50lb tire! The itps are not far behind , but ever lb less helps ....
as I said time will tell.
As far as side walls go , sometimes it's just the luck of the draw & not a bad tire .... The big heavy SXS , really do test the side walls .lmo.

from what I recall from previus yrs as my activity level here fell into a slump I recall you having issues keeping the rubber side down therefore i recommend a good heavy tire and maybe even add some of the liquid weight they use in tractor tire

in all seriousness i have had great luck with a set of the original outlaws and are available in this skinny wide configuration you speak of

So after 600 more k on the cryptids, I am still pleased. Wearing great , good in all terrain and better in the muddy , slippery rocks than I expected . Put a lot of miles on them , with constant wheel spin ( Mav turbo) and still look like new ... And we don't ride them easy ... Lol. No side wall / puncture problems at all and great for FAST trail rides ... Very smooth !

So I am very happy and would buy again .

Good to hear these are working well for you. It really seems like ITP has stepped up their game for the larger machine sized tires. They look great on the Mav and it's nice they aren't wearing fast.

I ve been watching these tires also and did try them out for a quick ride. They do ride great and work well. The jury will still be out for another year or two on wear but so far they are wearing great. Id buy a set.

More like Km or use.

Lol. I guess yes mileage would be better. Some of us put on 5000kms in a year and some put on 500km in a year. I am almost at 1500kms since we bought the machine in aug.

Mileage , terrain and HP play a huge roll...on longevity of tire life . Never been an ITP fan though they are putting out some good tires lately it would appear ....
I want them to work well for me , they don't need to
last 60000k ...lol
Honestly , between the backs , laws Max's and Cryptids this last few rides ( same terrain , similar machines ) they all worked well ... Did not see any tire with a real advantage ....

I did notice a HUGE difference between a big horn ( type ) tire and these tires though... The multi directional tires just don't work well enough in mud for me , they just don't cut it ....
With the terminator / max / Cryptid types of tires , you do need enough power to spin them ... To clean out . The true mud tires ( backs / laws) clean out better , but ride rougher. Putting 30 " tires @ 50 lb each on a machine that can't / won't spin them is a waste of time & $$$.....though.

I agree 100%. Bighorns don't clean out well at all and are very poor in wet and muddy conditions. I have plenty of room to go to a 30" tire but due to the huge weight increase coming from stock 2.0s to an 8 ply mud tire it just didn't make sense so I stuck with 27" tires. Weights still increased a bit going to the pitbull growlers but not even close to the 45-50 lb tires that are out there. I know they're not a pure mud tire but they have got me through many spots I was winching through (or hills I was sliding down backwards!) last year on the bighorns and still perform great when riding aggressively on faster trails.

Well having gone from Outlaw 2's to Cryptids, my immediate impression...
In the mud, the Outlaw 2's are definitely better, they clean out better, and definitely dig/chew better..
Being a heavier more aggressive tire your getting to the traction better....
What Cryptids bring to the table, definitely a more nimble feel on the trails, smoother ride and shaving a few pounds off of each corner should bode well for axles, bushings and bearings...
In short I'd rather replace winch cables and winches then rebuild corners and change axles...
If Outlaw could shave a few pounds off of each corner and soften the tread up a bit..then I'd have my cake and eat it too....
