Hey,

My bikes skipping 2nd gear actually its tricky to get past 1st gear takes a few pulls on the shifter to get a gear to change and when it changes i usually end up in 3rd.

Also the clutch never fully disengages, i've adjusted the cable and it doesn't really work. I was hoping to get some insight on how to fix it and what parts/brands to look for to fix this, I'm new to dirt bikes so i'm not sure of everything just yet.

Thanks

there are a few things that happen with these. Firstly for the shifting issue I have seen the retainer bolt on the shift drum back off causing the shifter to not select the gear correctly. as for the clutch it could be worn out, plates worn or springs weak etc. could be as simple as a stretched cable. if your gonna replace the clutch I recommend spending the exra cash on a barnett or a hinson clutch setup.

x2 on the hinson

I definitely don't want to spend the money on a Hinson I've been of work 2 months from a sledding accident. I just want to get the bike running I mostly ride gravel pits and freestyle kickers

If your plates are wore or springs are weak, the clutch would be more prone to slipping. Could be the clutch basket is notched from the friction plates, not allowing it to release properly. If u got to rock it back and forth a bit to get it to move even when the clutch lever is pulled while in gear, that's a tell tale sign.

You can file out your basket notches to an extent (not too much) preventing from sticking, but if your plates are warn out then your looking at getting new plates. Also if your shift arm has been hit hard then you shifting forks could be crooked in the tranny putting lots of strees on your dogbone and other gears.
