It’s way easier just too put it in your windshield pouch. Or Velcro it too your dash, been using mine for years and never even thought of adding a button.

the newer garage door openers are all wifi enabled, and most have an app, we all have smart phones so can open your door with your phone.

I've been thinking about doing this for a while myself. Finally put a plan on paper. I have a big issue with drilling holes and 'making the bike mine'. I guess i'm always looking down the road for resale, or scared i'll find a better way and have to deal with damage. So anything i add, is non-marring and transferable.
My plan is to have my kid print a mount i can clamp to the bars that will hold a nice small clean button. That will be wired to an extra remote for my door that will be stashed in the tool box area, out of the way. Should look nice and clean.

Even the old garage doors can be set up on WiFi. They sell a module and a WiFi hub for them..
