This and last week were probably the best weeks to ride out west with all the new snow Stacey. Next week the temps are in the teens. It looks like muddy lots and spring riding in the near future.

Not really, atleast not till the end of April. April can have some of the best sledding of the season. Over all way better then December IMO, that's why my season start's in Jan and end in April/May.
Sun glasses and T-shirt ripping up the alpine at 6,000ft in 10+deg temps, now that's fun.

I love the concept but I don't like riding the hard pack. Oh ya, later in the day is better when the snow softens up. This year will be different though. As the temps warm, the snow sinks and all year we have been fighting hazards, so this spring just might be disastrous. Not a lot of open alpine to ride in Fernie and getting there will be problem this year.

Back to the original thought. I'm not a biker but envy those who are and think it would be a great time of year once the gravel/sand is gone from the highways.

Already a biker fatality in Edmonton yesterday on the SW quadrant of the Henday. Police reporting "SUV was straddling 2 lanes and slowed suddenly" and the rider struck the SUV from right rear. Looks like a lot of witnesses so hopefully more details will come out. RIP to the rider and condolences to his family.

I don’t start sledding till April or May and ride till mid June. It’s the absolute best. Warm, tan, sunglasses. Sometimes, the snow gets so slushy that it acts the same as powder.
Cold sucks ballzzzzz.
Ride with kanedog. Enjoy life. Poo your pants on big climbs/descents.
