What a complete joke! And how is this not considered discrimination???

Why is it discrimination? Personally, i don't give a rats ass about the other guys head. It is in my opinion stupid will do as stupid will, in this case not wear a helmet, if it doesn't hurt me or someone else, who cares.
But also going along with that thought, not wearing a helmet should reflect on your insurance cost, it should be WAY higher because i sure don't want to pay for stupid. jmo

I certainly don't care if they don't wear one or if anyone wears one, cause i know i will be wearing mine.
I have the same thought with sledding and avy gear and helmets. I personally don't give a crap if you have it or not. Just don't expect to ride with me if you don't, i don't want you around to be my problem later.

When you see one on the road just get beside them and swerve a little. Watch as they dump the bike and their head pops like a zit. Problem solved. A little cleanup with a street sweeper and all is good again. Sorry if this is a little dark, its night out.

Besids the point of them dying if an incident happens...but if I decide to ride from my house to my shop sans helmet and get stopped (3 blocks away) why should I get a ticket. Or better yet, ride to get fuel a block away, and get stopped...

I do not like the idea of head injuries due to lack of appropriate driving up healthcare costs. I think this will need to be addressed through auto insurance rather than regular health care.

As far as those who are mad because they have to wear a helmet and Sikhs don't, learn to tie a turban and you are good from a legal perspective.

Someone needs to step up and develop a helmet that fits over a turbin:d
Would be a bunch of bobble heads riding around.

1000% correct. So when they wipe out and they will. Will they get 100% free coverage in AB??? Of course they will and this is where this pisses me off the most!!
And yes, to their insurance rates, should be quadruple of mine if not more.
Cause even though I say I don't give a ****, I will still change my driving habits around one without a lid. It's just gonna happen......

I don't care if you migrate to Canada or were born here and practice a certain religion. If you choose to live here you should have to abide by laws that are in place. Calling for a exemption in a law because you are unable to do something due to a piece of clothing you have to wear for religious purposes should not even be brought up. In this case if you really want to ride a motorcycle without a helmet ( no matter who you are or where you came from ) you have two choices, move somewhere that there is no laws preventing you to do what you want to do, or except the fact that you can't do it in this country.

I agree with you, but unfortunately they can change our laws

I'm born and raised Alberta, and I'm not feeling like a proud Albertian too much :(

That's the problem. You were born and raised in Alberta. Your Folks likely helped build the Alberta that our politicians are so keen to give away. White Anglo-Saxon males are the minority. get used to it.

That's is just ****ed up and people wounder why we get pissed. This is why and soon will sneak there laws over ours also. I hope they crash and ..... We are minority in our oun country now. We are losing our country more and more to this kind of BS and soon will not be called Canada, I also don't care if they want to wear a helmet or not but is the statement it makes or shows us what a diff religious group can do. There is no way in hell we can go to another country and do what they do here. Why do you think they get themselves into parliament and if one of them gets caught on a phone texting they cry the blues about prejudice BS......we are losing our rights boys and girls more and more each yr...........🖕

Yes insurance rate should be much higher for them.
Infact they should abolish the helmet law all together and make it so for every body. If you choose not to wear a helmet your insurance would be set at a much higher rate then the guy wearing a helmet.
For those who choose not to wear a helmet and yet are not insured to do so in a case of an incident the insurance company should have the option to no longer further insure the person motorcycle, making it impossible for the person to insure his ride for a number of years as penalty. Just a thought.

BC has had this for awhile now, and I also seem to remember a similar thread about this on here

Being Sikh I find your responses interesting, there’s a lot of valid points here boys, I’d say I agree with a lot of them. Besides the let them dump there bikes and die.
As far as insurance goes it def should go up, similiar to life insurance high risk should mean a high premium.

It’s really unfortunate that Canada is bending to rules of different religions and us Canadians are having to just put up with it, personally I think we need to be more like our brothers down south when it comes to this.

Moving to a country for a better life makes sense to me, but trying to make said better life exactly the same as it was back home is a bit idiotic. Like ffs assimilate to Canadain culture, I’m not saying completely drop your values and whatnot but you have to adapt to new ways /rant
