Until they figure out what is in the water, playoffs might be a stretch.

Go Flames Go

Its hard to be an Oilers fan......year after year of promising successful because of new talented players drafted, rushed into the league without any decent supporting cast leading to failure after failure. Even the old boys club had a good supporting roster around their stars but they figure one scoring line, some sub par deference and a mixed bag of goaltenders run around by a revolving door of coaches and management will somehow be successful.

Lost another to Montreal today, clearly the all star break did not create a turning point.

Anyone think they will have any luck making any trades before the deadline? Or would they ride it out and put the next gm to work?

I don’t think they will be able to make any significant moves. We have too many bad contracts. I think they will have to buy out some over the summer then try again next year

I don’t see them doing much of anything until the summer. They need some work to get this team in a playoff contention state!

If they could just get Gretzky and Messier to come out of retirement they would be all good. :)

Its a chit show up there. Reports saying Hitch wants to step down as coach. Doesn't think the team is good enough to be in the playoffs. They look decent on paper but a lot of under achievers.

My two fav teams. Edm an Philly, can’t get away from this damn guy. His days were numbered two years ago. He will likely be a bench warmer in philly next year. Unfortanetly goaltending isn’t why we’re on the line of not making the playoffs. I like that idea of bringing the moose and the great one back...to teach!! What’s next? Find Pronger I say...get him behind the bench.

He’s a ufa at the end of season. Who knows where he’ll be. Might not even be the nhl. But someone will sign him to be a back up more then likely

There was nothing wrong with Talbot when they got him from NY. There was nothing wrong with him when they made the playoffs for 16/17. The goaltending coaches haven’t changed and the lack of quality defenders hasn’t improved. Dustin Schwartz needs to go, he ruins goaltenders.

Look at Laurent Broisoit now in WPG and Edmonton gave up on him. Even look at what Dubby did when they shuffled him away.

Watch Talbot have a decent follow up season next year.
