Did we get a sleeper , and rid of a dressing room problem ...?

I agree, I like it. Not that hall wasn't a good player but I'm pretty sure he was a problem and definitely need D.

I heard there's a secret deal for Lucic and a #1 or 2 dman, but not signed until the first.... I think it was a good trade,as this guy is only 23 and he's a legit #2 or 3 dman now... He's big and solid.

PC and lucic go way back , pretty sure he would not of done the deal if he did not have Lucic 's go ahead ....
we need the size on every line .... Honestly hall does nothing when the big D's lean on him , they don't lean on lucic ...!
Hall is a great player , but he is no leader... He would never be happy with Mcd running the show ...
like the Montreal subban thing , get him the fawk outa there ...!!

You guys are about to overpay for Lucic big time. Rumor going around is that 7 x 7 has been offered by the Oil. He's a good player but yikes!

I didnt expect Hall to be traded, i thought Nudge or Yakopov would move first. Lucic will be a huge asset to the team, big strong, able to stir the pot. With the new D man, maybe...MAYBE the OIL can make a difference this year. More trades to come.

Larsson is a good young d man but he is not elite in my opinion and has yet to show elite skills at the NHL level. Taylor Hall is an elite winger and has proven it at the NHL level but is injury prone and has had issues with team commitment. Honestly I think the Oilers could have done much better and gotten a better player in return but they did fill a big need.

Lucic helps ease the loss of Hall but it wont replace him. I think they overpaid for Lucic and those last couple of years of his contract combined with his cap hit is really going to hamper them down the road. Lucic isn't exactly the type of player that remains effective in their mid 30's.

With that being said they have become a harder team to play against which overall should improve the team, maybe.

A nephew of mine who has a friend in the Oiler organization said Hall was a problem child in the dressing room and off the ice as well. Rumors of having problems with his nose he said. Obviously I never heard that firsthand but nephew is a huge Oiler fan and was mad when they let him go until he heard that. Very interesting if true?

Did not like the game last night ... Some bad habits & some people really have to
Learn to clear guys from in front of the net ....,
Like the offensive side of things , however they really need a mean big defence-man with a booming point shot ....

last night was a disappointing outcome, I think Eberle is trying to play his way to a trade. laziest player on the team when it comes to defensive play, and offensively if a pass doesn't work out perfectly he gives up on the play. frustrates me to no end

Eberle has been lazy since his rookie year. he has constantly been a lazy back checker. I got tired of listening to him in interviews a few seasons ago. He almost has a sense of entitlement that nothing he does is wrong and everyone else around him is making mistakes. There were a few post game interviews where I couldn't believe his reaction. Even if its just a post game interview take some ownership, show the fans you actually give a crap. After all its the fans who make sure he gets paid as well as he does.

He will be the next to go. He won't rise to the occasion when he gets demoted to the second line.

As far as Hall goes, thanks but see ya. Never liked him as a player. One trick pony. Drive along the boards, %90 of the time get knocked down or falls down. Never seen a professional hockey player on his ass as much as Hall. Sure the pedigree of return in the trade wasn't spectacular but it is what it is and Hall wasn't a cheap contract either. Not every team can afford to take $6 mill plus unless they are giving back a bad contract. PC got a decent guy cheaper and shed salary.

I said 3 games ago this team could go on a 8 game losing streak...well....another two road games this weekend. Can they squeeze out two points?
