Looking at getting a sport quad, I found a 06 700 raptor but wouldn't mind checking out the DS650's as well. How are these units?

The DS650 is like riding a barrel. They're big and heavy, and don't have reverse. If you're a big guy, the DS may fit you a bit better than the Raptor, but the Raptor has way more jam, plus reverse. I've had a couple of each....I wouldn't touch the DS.

Thanks grubby. yeah I'm on the bigger side "265", but I've been leaning towards the raptor. Was looking at the 500 predators as well but figured that would be to small for me. Thanks for the info, I didn't realize the DS don't have reverse.

The Raptor is quicker, lighter, more nimble. I had a DS for 6 years. The DS responded to mods very well, very strong and dependable. The DS is more suited for riding open areas and dunes. The bigger guys would like the DS

If i had to do it again it would be the Raptor

Go for the Raptor. Good looking, Very reliable, nice power, smooth ridding, easy to service.
DS. Ugly, a big TANK, do they make parts for them any more. Polaris is not reliable.

Just my opinion. Good luck on your purchase.

if your into trail riding check out a Honda 700xx I have one and love it might not be the best race machine but its a torque monster and your back will thank you at the end of the day they are getting hard to find but they are out there and you can get one for a real steal and its a Honda reliability is the key word with one just get on and ride
