My son just moved to Canmore,AB and I'm trying to find out if there are any quad trails out in that neck of the woods to explore. Any help would be appreciated.

try exshaw or seebee pits. People dont care too much out there. The south side of the trans canada highway between dead mans flats and canmore is also a super sick place to ride thats called never never land. People have been riding dirt bikes and quads at both spot s for over 30 years.

I looked all over between Canmore and Dead Mans Flats and i couldn't see a single bit of anything that resembled a tread mark from a bike ATV or even a sleepy driver lol. i ended up going to exshaw where their town has a bylaw allowing recreational vehicles to ride within their town. (30kmh and to the right) i looked for a trail of some sort. we ended up by a exshaw creek trail so we thought. but it turned out we were at the base of a mountain bike trail called the prospector. we did actually ride this trail for about an hour and a half but it got too difficult for my old lady and i had to turn around. we ran into a old guy and his grand kid and chatted them up they said gtfo or we could get in trouble. so i asked a guy where to go riding and he gave me advice on a place called wipress. and mclean creek? some places fairly close (about an hours drive) we took trashcanyons advice and went to check out the seebe pits. which were fairly easy to get to if you unload right at the dam you can ride the train tracks west to a big gravel pit. (might want to keep to closed hours. looks like people do work there) DO NOT go east of the dam there is a great road/ trail along the train tracks and it is really neat. but we stumbled into a vandalised van near a field of debris we went through the field and were looking at things and we found a human grave and got scared. as we left we ran right into a grizzly bear. we scared it and it scared us more. we ended up reporting the grave to police who then told us we were in a first nation reserve. i repeat if i had not gone east my ride would have remained great. I now know where not to go. and what being in a real horror movie feels like. if you have an enduro it would be a great spot to ride and check out some things but almost anything on a dirtbike out here is tresspassing. i would love to find this never never land place.

Check out North of Ghost Lake and drive up Forestry Trunk Road (buy a offroad map) and check out the area. Lost of spots to stop and trails up there. Lots of mud and fun. Good luck.
