This is a great jacket and with proper layering will be my only jacket for all conditions. Warm, dry, comfortable with excellent protection from the wind and snow.

I have worn this jacket at -17C and +3C and it has performed better than I expected. Wearing a micro-fleece long sleeve shirt with a fleece pullover keeps me warm on cold days. On warmer days I wear just the microfleece shirt (Cdn Tire) underneath. The jacket feels light and pliable, allowing me to jump around on my sled without any restriction.

The zipper is located on the side of the jacket and runs up to the arm pit. I have not had an issue zipping this down. My previous pullover (FXR) had the same zipper location but always required help from a friend to zip down.

Multiple pockets (4) on the front of the jacket are easily accessible for a camera or lens cloth. They are always dry inside.

The snow cuffs are new for me and took a short time to get accustomed to. The cuffs allow me to wear short gloves without worrying about snow flying up the sleeve.

The collar may look uncomfortable in pictures but it is very pliable and when it is zipped up, it is not noticeable. The collar provides excellent protection from the wind and snow. I really don't like wearing a balaclava and now I don't have to unless it's really cold on the trail ride in.

I would recommend this jacket to any of my friends. Shop around and you can find them on Ebay for under $120.
I've ordered Rekon bibs and can't wait to try them next.

Thanks for posting this. I went out on a limb yesterday and ordered one on a hunch and feel a lot better about my purchase now. almost too bad that its no longer made as it looked like a good alternative to a conventional jacket. Did you not have any interest in the side hill bibs or did you try them and not like them? I will try and put up something when I get mine.

thanks for the review

I've never heard of Sidehill bibs. I took a chance on the jacket. Nobody really said anything good or bad about it. The Ebay seller I bought my jacket from now has them for $95.

This is my favorite jacket.

It fit well and has ALL the pockets sorted in a way that you have easy access. it's like a totally functional pullover on steroids.

Sadly it is gone now. I think it was to progressive at the time.

For the non-conformist.....this jacket is sweet.

Thanks for the revue, I've been looking into a new jacket.

How do you find the sizing? I know eberyone is different so it may be hard to comment, but I'm 6'4" but most of my height is upper-body (I'm shaped oddly ok?? haha) and find it difficult to find good fitting jackets.

Thanks!

I am 5'-6" and 180 lbs. I bought a medium and could have gotten away with a small but it works when I wear the tekvest underneath. I think their gear fits a bit bigger than the sizing charts shows.

Thanks.

Right after I posted I ordered on off eBay cause they were such a deal, and it showed up today. I went with the 2XL and I'd say I chose about right considering I'll be running some base layers underneath.

Too bad it'll be a couple weeks before I get to try it out :/

I bought this jacket in the fall for about the same price and I love it! I find myself always going with this jacket from now on, alot warmer then I thought. Usually I run a base layer and the jacket or also put on a mid layer, works very well.

Alright, I've had a chance to ride with mine 4 times now so I can weigh in on the Sidehill for you guys.

I love it. Haha.

Wore it two days in Golden and two on the prairies. One day in Golden it was snowing heavily, that sopping wet heavy snow and it kept me dry all day. The second day it was snowing heavy in the AM and then let up for the afternoon, fluffy light snow and again I was comfortable and dry all day. Wore an Under Armor base layer and a micro-fleece like mid layer and I was comfortable, sometimes a little too warm, both days.

For the two days on the prairies it was sunny, no wind and warm (-1 to at most -10) and all I wore was a long sleeve t-shirt. Again, comfortably warm and bone dry both days.

I love the accessibility of the 4 front pockets, makes stashing small items like a digital camera or your balaclava easy (camera stayed dry too). The side entry is kinda strange but it's easy to get in and out of. Powder skirt inside the pullover and cuffs that go halfway up your hand (thumb though hole) keep any unwanted powder out.

There's still some on eBay for cheap so if you guys are thinking about it, you should grab one!

Oh yeah, I'm 6'3" 240lbs and long in the torso, the 2XL fits me perfectly.

Just an update on Motorfist warranty...
I hit a creek bed and my handlebar ripped my jacket at the seam in the front (beside the front pocket). I contacted Motorfist and they sent me the necessary warranty form and included my description of how the damage occured.
I have had this jacket for a while now and I was prepared to pay for the repair. The repair was covered under warranty and it looks good as new.
It took a while to get it back to me but that turned out to be an issue with Canada Post.

Thanks Motorfist!
