enclosed trailer

I am looking to buy a new or used enclosed trailer. What kinda opptions are a must? What kind of trailers should i stay away from? Spring axle or torsion? I want 6.5 rear door hight, 8.5 wide 16 or 18 box plus noise. What about heated? Would be nice but wear does all the water end up?

a few things i learned the hard way...

LED lights are a must. i also like having battery power seperate from the truck so you can run the lights and stereo etc with the truck off.

buy one thats finished on the inside because its like renovating a house. pain in the butt. get it done right from the factory.

and stick with the 8.5 wide our 30ft is loaded with 5 sleds in 20 seconds and ready to head out lol. no backing in this way and that way over wheel wells and bs.

Have it setup for 110 VAC lights and plug ins as well. It is very handy to be able to plug in at the house of motel and have lights rather than running the truck. Also good for electric heaters and battery chargers amd not having to leave the doors cracked to get extension cords in and out.

surprised no one has mentioned all aluminum construction. you will see a big difference in price between steel framed trailers and all aluminum trailers, sometimes the cheapest is not the best buy.

Get a heater. It becomes a skating rink in no time. Drill a couple of holes in the floor, and vent the unit properly.

A lot of people recommend the glides, but I would just get some ski skins. They make your trailer more versatile for other things.

Firefly typically deals Legend All Aluminum trailers, but sometimes he does have sweet deals on other brands as well.... You will not find anyone on this forum who has dealt with him that has a negative story, always hear great things about dealing with FireFly.

have to agree with lots of these guys, LED lights are a must, superglides save floor and make getting in & out much easier, and torsion suspension is awesome, no spring bushings to replace & rides and turns sharp much nicer.

Those are some nice looking trailers, I'm looking for one as well. I would like to know if windows could be put in the sides so it can be used as a sleeper when the quads are outside?

I do a lot of sliding windows, bunks, screen doors, awnings etc... for customers that use the trailers to crash in during the evenings.

buy heated if you can damn there nice sled all dry and thawed in the morning . You can leave all your gear in it at night and its all warm and dry in the morning. All the water drains out of the back and front doors not a issue. Awesome to dress and get undressed at the hill with the furnace barking. you wont be sorry and for only a couple more grand i think its worth it. good luck
