Hey all I currently have a One Industries Kombat helmet and use 509 aviator and Scott Turbo Flow XI goggles. I am looking at a buying a more breathable helmet and am deciding between the new 509 and the Klim F4, if anyone has any advice I'm all ears!
Thanks in advance.

Tried 509,troy lee and motorfist... The helmet I like the best BY far is the BRP carbon helmet. Breath's the best by FAR over the other brands.. I honestly have NOT tried a Klim f4 yet either though.

So I pulled the trigger on a Klim F4, cost about $380 but hopefully it lives up to the Klim name.

1 of my riding buddy's has the F4 and the 509. He hates the F4 and loves the cheaper 509. Hopefully it works better for you.

I have a couple 509's and love them. I tried the Klim's but didn't work for my melon. Going to look at the motorfist at the show this year if there's any around.

Brp Carbon is excellent , the way the goggles seal to the helmet liner made it worth it . Klim does not have that protective lip around the face opening and has a awkward fit on the goggle nose piece to breath guard . IMO

509 Evolution with sinister x5 goggles . Goggles are matched up to helmet and dont let much air through priced well too . Some goggles do not fit well in certain helmets and you get a lot of air leakage causing fogging and a cold face;)

choosing a helmet really depends on how many monster energy and sledneck stickers you can paste to it.

Hahaha.

I bought the BRP XP-2 last season and although it's not carbon fibre I can't say the weight bothers me much. It's got great air flow, in fact it pumps so much air through the top of my goggles I feel like my eyes will freeze/dry out sometimes haha. The included breath-box sucks, not comfortable at all. I'll use it one more season then I'll look into something new.

Damn I just tried the 509 Carbon on today!!! Love the feel of the 509 carbon, but sales guys told me the Sinister X5 goggles were designed to fit into the helmets better for this year rather than the Aviators? I am torn, did not like the motorfist helmet fit at all on my head. No clue what to buy. I will keep looking I guess.

I wouldn't wear a 509 goggle if they were the last ones on earth lol. For a company that makes sled exclusive products they can't make a lense that doesn't fog worth a damn. Oakley all the way if your serious about a good goggle. More $$ but you could also just keep wasting money on those 509s and other brands. Yes... Aviators look cool....

Just bought an FXR blade lite helmet from canadasmotorcycle for $239. I tried one on at the sled show but didn't buy one. Good thing there's free shipping. I tried a Fly helmet before that and the aviators did not fit at all. It's a very wide helmet compared to the HJC and the FXR.

Really light compared to my old HJC. 2.6 lbs compared to 3.2lbs. I actually wondered if there was anything in the box when I picked it up at the postal outlet. Tried on my aviators with it and they feel good.
I'll get a real world test when I get back from Vegas.
