I'm thinking of buying a helmet and goggles from them as they have $50.00 off the package deal right now. The packaged deal seems much cheaper than other brands of helmets. I was wondering if you liked the quality, fit, warranty, etc. Are they comparable to other brands of helmets or better? Going to look at the sled show tomorrow but this setup looks really really nice! What type of lens would you recommend for the goggles?

If you can try some goggles with the helmet, even better! Some fit better than others. IMO, the pink/red ish lenses are good multi light lenses, so is a light orange...yellow is good for darker days and nightish...blue is a good clear day but not so good in bad light or evening.
I personally go with pink/red toned ones and use them in all conditions. Switch to yellow at dusk if we're night riding. 509 will have both the helmet and goggles at the show, you can check out the fit. I'm sure you can swing the same deal as online at the show?

See you there! :)

509's helmets are actually made by AFX which retail for @ $85-100. So if you don't want to pay an extra $70 for snowmobile graphics just look at the AFX website.

I have the 509 helmet and sinister goggle combo and it's great!! The goggles fit very tightly in the helmet reducing the cold air blowing through. The goggles will fog in the right conditions, but stay clear most of the time. I busted my goggle frames and 509 replaced them with no questions asked, very happy with my purchase.

I just bought this package with the matte black helmet and black ops sinister goggles! they seem super comfortable and fit/match well together, IMO although havent rode with them yet.. but this is definately a personal opinion type of thread..

Went to the sled show last night and put on the helmet with the aviator goggles. It fit like a glove. I hope they work as well as they fit. Bought 2 helmets, 2 aviator goggles, and 2 goggle fans. I hope I didn't waste $140 on the goggle fans. Anyone own those?

The fans are the same as the HaborVision one I believe, the fans are what pleased me the most a out the open face/goggles combo. I always fogged up and now I will not go back to a closed face helmet love the fans.

If AFX and 509 helmets are the same, does the 509 breath box work in an AFX helmet?

Just a heads up on the 509 lids. If you mount a go pro mount to them make sure you cut and peel off the wrap that's on the helmet otherwise your go pro will rip off the wrap in its own when it's hit and you will loose your camera.

I use a fishing leader for a safety cord looped through the shade(and a dremel for the wrap).

how about a pic of how you mounted your gopro. the 509 helmets do not have any level surfaces to mount to.

what i did was trace the mount on the helmet, then cut it out with a olfa knife. its just thin, so be careful. then i removed the 3m sticker from the mount and used a 2 part epoxy to glue the mount to the hemlet. so far so good!! being that the helmet isnt level, thats where the epozy comes in, just put it on heavy and it will fill the void between the mount and the helmet.

I like mine, I ordered it big so I could wear a hat underneath it, the helmet may be over vented in my opinion because my head gets cold sometimes, normally not a big issue though
