A lot of people here are beloved by the folks in the sales departments of these clothing companies. I keep seeing 'It works great so it's worth whatever they charge for it.'

Personally I follow the consumer principle of 'I will buy the good stuff, but it should cost as little as possible over what it cost to make.' And I make my buying decisions with that in mind. All my gear is goretex Klim, event Motorfist, or 509. But it's all bought on sales.

I'm not sure this thread has a actual topic or question, but my suggestion to everyone is buy the good stuff, sure, but don't pay their outrageous full price.

I 100% agree. I'm sure I didn't pay more then 50% of retail for any of my gear all new. Might be into my gear for $1300 total. Klim jacket/bibs, 509 helmet, FXR boots, 509 goggles (x2), and abs Avy pack. Lots of deals out there if you look for them.

Yep, the trick is to shop end of season, or non-current. I've never paid retail for any riding gear.

I've had Klim for a few years, great quality, but too warm for most days. I've gone to FXR for lighter stuff and I'm under $650 for BOA boots, gloves, jacket and bibs.

If you like tree riding and are always taking out jackets and pants i would look into the TOBE Rex mono suit. i looked at it at the show and it looks like it could stop a bullet, but yet still had lots of mobility. will for sure be on the list for next year as i tend to go through a jacket a year due to tearing.

Do yourself a favour and look into snowboard outfit. I wear North Face Steep series pants and jacket. Both cost me $450. On my second season wearing. I have ripped the pants so I'll be replacing them this year. For $150 for pants I'm not complaining. Snowboarders have been warm for years. Downside to jacket is no dedicated hook for my tether. I refuse to spend $1000 on a suit. As for my helmet I have a 509 tactical helmet. I do wear Motorfist boots and gloves. Hope this helps

Wear your tether on your wrist. Works great.
