i don't have vents on the pro but i have vents on the dragon and the 600 rmk. i first worry before buying the vents was sticks going through the mesh. but I've had them on the dragon side panels for about 1/2 seasons now and had them on the 600 rmk for 2 seasons have never had problems with rips or sticks going through the mesh.

i have a friend who has an xp with vents, and he hasnt had issues either, but his seem to be more of a wire mesh where my polaris ones are a material mesh. air through only, no water at all.

If your worried just carry duck tape in your back pack, then if you rip it you can patch the hole. If you rip the material in the vents you can buy that stuff at Fabric Land, but I can only find it black.

I run the XXX mod rods vents on my pro. Definately helps. You can feel the heat coming out of them. Never had issue with them getting ripped. I ride around alot of trees.
