What brand of goggles do you wear and do they fog up often??

I have a few different pairs and seem to have the fogging or frosting problem alot. And I have a $30 pair and a $130 pair and they both fog.

I have a pair if Smith goggles that are pretty good. They fog once in a while too, but as soon as they get a little airflow thru them they clear right off again.

I can't recall what brand I use, and I'm too lazy to go outside and look, but it doesn't seem to matter what brand they are, all the ones I've ever used fog up at some point. All I know for sure is that the quick-straps are the cat's meow when it comes to goggles, especially if you have to keep cleaning them!!. I think it has alot to do with sweatin' like a pig when you're working hard on the hill.

I have Scotts I bought from cycle works when they where in their old store, I mean there old old 99st store. They still work geat. They are fog free in times when I think they should be fogging but they don't. In fact, about the only time they do fog is if when I take a really bad hit, like a hip to the running board and the handle bar in the chest/rips, you know the kind you can recorver from becuase your sled lost so much energy slamming itself into the bank on the otherside of little gully thats there now but wasnt a moment ago. So now the sled is berly moving and you're still sort on it so you can pull your self back up and try to look like you just shock it off like you planed for it, but your buddies say, "Holly sh*t Dude! that looked like a pretty hard hit! you sure you ok?" But you are pretty sure it aint broke, just hurts a whole lot, you should feel better after 10 minutes of riding again. Fortuatley now that you do have those scott googles cause now your are tearing up like heck from the pain and your eyes are getting pretty wet, then rknight111 I have had the scotts fog up, almost every time in this or another similar situation (plus my helmet was probably also impacted with snow and that does help much. But relief is close at hand my friend, a quick lift of the googles to shake the snow and tears away and let some fresh air in and they clear up right quick and then I sit back and ride while I think about how amazing these scott googles I bought are and how stupid I was to think I could jump through that little gully like that.

OH, I got the double amber lenses for mine. Tricks my mind into thinking I can see better somehow. Seams to work, my mind is buying it.



One thing with googles is there alway has to be a little air moving around behind the lense, scoot has an open cell foam stuff that works good for this. Some times I get cold though and I pack my belaclava around the googles too much and block too much air, I have to just re-adjust a bit and all is well.

I have a set of scott turbo flow. they have never fogged. about $60-$70

Yup, Our Whole Family Has Probably 20 Pairs Of Goggles, And I Don't Have Fogging Problems With Any Of Them.... My Daught On The Last Trip Breathed Into Her Goggles Once, And They Were Done. I Always Carry And Extra Set, So She Was Okay. All Our Goggles Are "smith Or Scotts"...... We Use Some For Skiing/boarding, And Some For Sledding. We Use The Quick Straps On Everything With Our Open(mx) Style Helmets. Just My 2 Cents

Ron: you didn't say if you wore glasses or not. If you do GET CONTACTS. Contacts don't work for you? GET PRESCRIPTION GOOGLES. Pro Vue are the best, Bolle work as well. Good for us old guys with failing eyesight. Along with failing bodies, bravery etc.

Scott goggles here. Mine fog up when we stop on the trail in. The more we stop, the more they fog. Once we get off the trail we usually stop for a few minutes and I set my goggles on my plug wires to defrost. No problems for the rest of the day unless I have one of those unplanned dismounts. I always carry an extra pair. Quick straps are the way to go. I carry a normal strap just in case though.

Scott Turbo flows, they only fog when you stop moving or the vents get plugged with snow. I ethier stop and throw them on the motor to dry out or just tap them to get the vents cleaned out and good to go again!!!

Full face electric shield never fogs.

I have tried a few different goggles too. I now have scott turbo flow's and they are awesome!! They have so much air flow through that my contacts go crazy. I think mine were about 70 bucks. I bought my guy a pair for Christmas because he is a sweater and they don't fog on him either. Am i the only one that doesn't like Quik straps??? I took mine off and use the regular old strap!!

I use scott's as well. They fog when I am hot!!! But I use one of those quick straps, they work awesome.. In the spring or when it is warm I wear shades.

i wear smith voltage 3. there tear offs but i replaced the leans for sledding. Never fogged up on me once. even went out when it was -27 in smoky lake and had no problem with frost or fog.

One trick about goggles that I forgot to mention, first get the quick straps like every one is recommending, second, on a warm day, ALWAYS pop your goggles off so they are haning from one side of your brain bucket and not on your face when you stop (even for a few seconds). When its warm and your warm and there is no air movement they will fog right away if you don't.

Same, Hasn't fogged up once!

Ahhhh, the holly grail. I love my electric full face. Except when you get just the right temperature and you get a poof of powder and it all sticks to it and you can't see a thing. I wish there was a perfect lid. Is it just me or does everyone have more than one helmit just cause of stuff like this.

Antifog

I use anti fog wipes inside my goggles and it helps a bit. I found on a warm day when I'm working hard and sweating that if I take my balclava off the moist air escapes easier and my goggles don't fog up near as bad.
Otherwise I'm wearing quick release straps and pull them off as soon as I stop.

You're not the only one, I also use the full strap. My Smiths' have the breath deflector that fits under the lining of my helmet, and snaps right onto the nose piece of the goggles. So I just take off my helmet and goggles as a one piece unit.

Yahooo, I am so glad i am not the only non quick strap person! I also take mine on and off as one...so easy

dragon googles with a quick strap for me... and I think they Rock. I ride average 80 days a season and have two pair that get swaped on the regular. One for flat light and one for the sun... both fog a little but as soon as I am moving there fine!!!!!!!
