This will be my first season snowmobiling and I'm looking to buy my first sled.
I've done it a couples times so far on a summit 06.
Will be riding mainly backcountry and powder in Whistler, B-C.

There is a good deal on a couple sleds right now;

a 2010 artic cat snow pro m8 with a 153 track, 3000km, no warranty for 7,500$ and
a 2011 pro rmk with a 163 track, 1600 km and a 2 years bumper to bumper warranty for 10,000$ obo
There is also a lots of summits from various years for sale

Looking for the sled that will be the easiest to learn on and the most dependable. $$ is not my priority.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Out of the box a summit xp of any year are the best, but the pro rmks are good as well they are light as well which will make them easier to ride for the most part. If you are looking at doing some jumping go with a pro rmk because of the one piece bulk head which reduces the possibility of the front end twisting. The 03-07 summits are good for jumping as well because they have a re-in-forced bulk head. If you are looking to mod Arctic Cats are the way to go. Hope I could help.
