I'm thinking of moving up in sleds and found someone that is willing to swap sleds with me I just want to make sure I'm getting a fair deal
I have a 2000 Summit 700 HM and he has a 2004 Arctic cat Mountain Cat 900 and wants a extra 1000 What do you guys think?

What kind of info you want, half will say ya and the better half's will say NO WAY. It's a hassle to change brand, it's like changing driver's lic and then you must change your avatar to mrmountaincat900 and it starts to get long and confusing, never mind the doo wear you have and tools are no more good, so if you sell tools cheap let me know and can give me the extra doo iol you have. Well enough said. My 2 cents. Good luck

Pretty tough to say with out seiing the sleds LOL. If the 900 has reverse you will need to get rid of it. That reverse system was not a good system. Had a bad habit of skipping then Bang good bye chain. Overall the 1M 900 was a good sled in it,s day. IMO worth $4000.00 max , that for a clean low mileage sled. All boils down to rider preference though. I liked the 1M chassis until i rode an M series LOL. Ride it see if you like it.

Personal opinion - if sleds are comparable condition I say go for it. The cat 900 is rock solid and accepts mods well, whereas the Summit 700 was less then stellar - had two of them in my house back in the day, and I can tell you firsthand that the Cat 900 will scratch the doo all to ratsh*t on the hill. It doesn't ride as nice, reverse chaincase is junk as previously mentioned, but they were a very good sled in thier day for mountain riding. Just be sure to inspect it, as a 1M bulkhead isn't cheap, or easy to find if it's bent.
