Just wondering which place everyone prefers, and why. We prefer McBride; mostly due to the size of the riding areas. :Snowmobile1:

i prefer Valemount. i havn't ridin Mcbride much. but Valemount just seems more interesting, more challenging, bigger climbs. I could be wrong,it also helps when you know an area. You can allways find what your looking for in Valemount.

Which Area To Ride?

I PERSONALLY PREFER RENSHAW(MCBRIDE) BECAUSE THE AREA IS SO LARGE, COMPARED TO VALEMONT(CLEMINA).... HAVEN'T RIDEN MUCH ELSE IN VALEMONT TO COMPARE. YOU'RE RIGHT, THE RIDE IN AND OUT OF RENSHAW CAN BE BRUTAL, IF NOT GROOMED FOR FEW DAYS.:thumbsup2: JUST MY 2 CENTS WORTH

Mcbride is the ride of choice. Much more technical riding, climbs are steeper, the renshaw is a huge area, although we don't ride it much, not as crowded, mind you we never see anyone in the places we ride, and personally I think Mcbride gets more snow, or maybe it's just we don't ride the packed areas and always seem to find the powder.

Valemount VS McBride

We ride an area close to Valemount.... My dad use to live in Valemount and the place that we ride is only know to about 4 or 5 other guys besides our group. It is great, never tracked and always fresh. My vote goes to Valemount!

I always stay at the Terracana which is right in the middle, it's equal drive both ways so we ride which ever one we feel like when we get up in the morning. They ask us at breakfast where we want to go and they give us passes for there. I have never had a bad time at either spot, but if I had to choose it would be Renshaw.... just on size!

I will have to vote for McBride for riding,Renshaw is bigger than Climina and Allen combined and way less crowded. Then there is Bell,Lucile,Horsey and a few others close to town that are rarely riden. :D :D Just not enough places to stay or eat out at. Terrain varies from mild to challenging even for the big turbos.

valemont vs. mcbride

i like mcbride too, alot less crowds, but also less hotels too. renshaw is so big that you dont have to deal with very many crowds unless you want too. I also like that you dont have to drive 1/2 hour drive each way to get to the hills.

McBride has always been my favorite and coming from east of Edmonton I cannot lie and say the shorter drive isn't a motivator. Been to Sicamous, Revy, and golden but the conditions and weather are always a factor wherever you go. Have had great rides in all the places but my favorite was a 'socked-in' day in the valley at McBride and after much arguing with a couple of the boys who wanted to leave instead of ride...we did a quick trip to "have a peek" at Bell. When we got to the top, sun came out and it was about minus 8 degrees. Oh yeah, and it was just the four of us on untouched powder for 5 hours. Mmmmm, Mmmmmm, good!!. Trouble was that Bell is so small, we managed to beat her up pretty good by the time we left. If memory serves me correctly, isn't Bell at a higher elevation than the Renshaw?. In the end it doesn't matter where you go but who you go with!. Beats the crap outta going to a night-club!!

Hey Summitric,
The Terracana is :perfect10:
To me the rates are great when you take everything they offer into consideration. The more guy's you have in you group (up to 5) the cheaper the price. It's allinclusive so your lodging, 3 hot meals per day and supper is 3 courses (unbelievable food), and your trail pass. There's lots more stuff like a drying room, games room, hot tub, etc but where they got me was on great service and Seclusion, well atleast I think so, I've never worried about my truck or sleds disappearing, to me those two are priceless. You can check out there site at ask for Lisa! Another guy and I are going to be there at the end of the month, maybe I will see you there!

I prefer Mcbride over Valemont, Valemont is way to packed all the time Clemina is nice but it's usually rode out or wind blown, went there over new years for a day it was ok but it's to far out of town. Lot more area in Mcbride if your willing to go out of the regular areas
