Hey everyone. I'm fairly new to the whole sledding thing, just bought my first real machine a few days ago, and I'm looking for people to ride with, preferably anywhere within 5 hours drive or so. I have ridden a bit before, but this is the first sled I actually own and I'd like to go out with a few people some time and get into some mountain riding and things like that. If anyone has something planned or wants to start something up and needs another person, I'd love to go. How far is the Golden riding area from here, or Revelstoke? (I live in Strathmore, just outside of Calgary).

I do have a truck, but no sled deck. Like I said, I would like to get into sledding pretty heavily this year, as all I have to worry about is work and not school.

If anyone wants to set something up, let me know.

Thanks,

Jim Mercer

Welcome to the site. This is a great site for setting up rides with other guys. Always seems like someone is looking for another rider to go with!

I'm new to the whole sledding thing as well, but my buddy has done it quite a bit growing up in the tumbleweeds of Sask and we're getting a couple sleds right away as well. We're thinking of heading up to Golden this weekend to rent a couple sleds to check it all out as well. If you're interested, we could probably hook up. Let me know. Golden is about a 3.5 hour hike from here, Revelstoke is about 5 hours.

Oh and hi all...great site, great info...learning alot.

What days do have off, I'm always looking for someone to go out with me midweek, most of the time just a day trip to Golden. I have room for 3 sleds in all.

Well currently I will be working Monday-Friday, but I might be able to change that. What days do you usually go on?

I bought a 2008 Rev-XP 800R 146"
Working on getting my avalanche gear, have a probe and shovel but I still need to pick up a transceiver.
Saturdays and Sundays would work great for me, I'll have to try and catch up with you next time you go out. Dealer still has my sled finishing up a few last things, I should have it at my place by Tuesday of next week.

Another way of finding some riding partners is to join the Calgary Snowmobile Club, they do club organized rides about every month, great way to meet other riders and get introduced to new riding areas:)
