It's time to write the Honourable Ted Morton Minister of sustainable resources and voice your concerns. I did!

Ted is looking to hear from the public on this issue before making any decision so make sure you right him and let your voice be heard.

The article is also in friday's Edmonton sun on Page 19, Buried where know will see it. I am sure it is in the Calgary sun as well.

This has been posted under the heading US Land Closures under the "Just About Anything Goes" section. Thanks for posting the addresses of the ministers. I think if every one who has visited this site would write a letter we may get Mr. Morton's atttention??? This has the poetential of closing down massive amounts of riding areas.

Just got off the phone with Mr. Morgan's office. The lady told me to email

tracy.arnell@gov.ab.ca

If you send to the email that throttle-up posted, it will be forwarded to the lady above anyways. So you might as well skip the middleman.

I also asked her if writing a letter on paper is more effective than an email. She said an email will be fine, please try to use an official email addresss ie: shaw or telus so that they know you are serious and an actual person.

Gents:

You know I was going to talk to Ted about how he was going to handle this this back just after the Ponoka Stampede. Forgot to and now I am kicking myself in the a**. I will try to make some calls to ensure the off-road associations have some input into this - not just the tree huggers. This is a fine balancing act these guys have to play politically- urban tree-huggers against the ORV (rural) users.

Emails are great - but PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL. Ted is actually a "good ol boy" and has a good ear for rural issues. If presented that way - they will go way farther than just "spouting off" against the environmentalists.

I was just on the ASA web site no mention of this possible closure????? Just wondering why they are not trying to get the message out to the members???? You would think this would be priority no#1 for them???

Sent an email to Ted Morton and my local MLA.
Thanks for the heads up on the email address. I was looking for one earlier today.

This is a very serious issue for those of us who still do a lot of their riding in Alberta I have written my letter to Mr. Morton and it will be in the mail tomorrow. If you are going to respond to this issue at the very least respond to the email address that is on this site but the best is to write a letter in your words but don't be belligerent or get into name calling be concise and state your point in the most positive way possible. I have herd that the politicians will pay attention to your personal letter much more than a form letter or email. Just my 2 cents worth.
